Risk Modeling

Risk Assessment and Mitigation
Inadequate models will produce inadequate results, but so will inadequate assessment methods. Methods must be aligned with targets to be both cost and risk-effective; one size does not fit all. We can assist with selection and execution of systematic approaches to privacy and security risk assessment with relevant degrees of rigor.
Privacy Engineering
Privacy engineering operationalizes Privacy by Design. By explicitly addressing privacy requirements, implementation, and verification within systems engineering and systems development life cycles, privacy engineering imbues systems with specific privacy properties while proactively managing privacy risks. We can assist with defining privacy engineering processes and methods and their life-cycle integration.

With over 25 years of experience, he has supported privacy and security functions across US federal and state agencies, as well as in the private sector. He has spoken and written widely on privacy engineering and risk management and is a contributing author of An Introduction to Privacy for Technology Professionals (IAPP, 2024).
